During the signup of a new email account either on Gmail or Outlook.com or Yahoo Mail you have been asked to fill up your name. If your mentality is same like me, you have filled your real name. From thereafter, every single email you send you real name will be displayed in the From: field.
No doubt, these 3 platforms are the most popular and widely used email accounts nowadays. They come with 2-step authentication feature to provide an additional layer of security. But still if you care for privacy much like Facebook security, I recommend it to change your sending names.
If privacy is not your concern, you can change it just for fun. Officially these web e-mail providers offer to change the sending names, so we are not going to use any 3rd party apps or extensions to achieve it.
Gmail
Step #1 | Go to your Gmail account or click www.gmail.com and log in.
Step #2 | Click the Gear icon on the top right and select Settings.
Step #3 | Go to Accounts and Import tab, move to Send mail as: section and click edit info link in the right side.
Step #4 | A new window opens. Set your desired username and be sure to select the radio button. Save your changes by clicking Save Changes button.
Great! You'r done. Now whenever you will send email the sending name will be changed. For me it will be Ninja.
Outlook
Step #1 | Go to your Outlook account or click www.outlook.com and log in.
Step #2 | Click the Gear icon on the top right and select More mail settings.
Step #3 | Under Managing your account section, click on Account details (password, addresses, time zone).
Step #4 | New tab opens. In the Overview section select Edit name.
Step #5 | Enter your First and Last name. No, you have to add both of them. That's what I don't like on Outlook. Save your changes by clicking Save button.
Great, now you have completed changing your sending name in Outlook. The process is easy on 3 of the platforms so it is configure it out without hassle. Now we are going to see how to change Yahoo Mail sending name.
Yahoo
Step #1| Go to your Yahoo account or click www.mail.yahoo.com and log in.
Step #2 | Click the Gear icon on the top right and select Settings.
Step #3 | Under Settings Section click Accounts tab, from there click edit button on the right.
Step #4 | Enter your desired name in Sending Box. I used Ninja as same on Gmail (on above Gmail section). Hit the Save button and once more to save the settings. Vola you'r ready to go now.
After doing as explained the in the tutorial all your new email will be sent by the sending names you have entered. If you face any problem do let me know in comments. In my opinion you should not as I have gone through detailed tutorial each part step-by-step. Anyhow, I am always available to help you out.
Cheers!!
