Being 2nd most popular website in the world, Facebook is surely most beloved social utility that connects people, to keep up with friends, upload photos, share links and many others. Users from all over the world is still growing and connecting in vast rate. According to news India is now 2nd after United States for having 100 million active users and soon planning to achieve 1 billion.
Javier Olivan, the company official in charge of global growth, told ET: "Now, we look forward to 1 billion in India — that's a different focus and challenge."
Surely, everything is going to bring something great. As Facebook has also big plans for Oculus Rift currently under their development.
So now lets move to some common misconception currently about Facebook.
Is Facebook Is Affected by Heartbleed?
“We added protections for Facebook’s implementation of OpenSSL before this issue was publicly disclosed. We haven’t detected any signs of suspicious account activity, but we encourage people to … set up a unique password.”
What is Heartbleed?
If you are not so geeky and don't know what the heck is Heartbleed and how does it works? This post by Techcrunch will help you to explain about it. This will surely not going to cover "dummies guide" but yes will help to engulf what is going on.
Facebook.com was confirmed as vulnerable either publicly via statement according to LastPass Heartbleed checker.
You can use the LastPass Heartbleed Checker tool to check site which is or not vulnerable. Sites like Tumblr, Blogger, YouTube and many other are already confirmed as affected.
Personally I suggest you to change your password and use LastPass Chrome extension that I use. No companies are going to declare publically that they are being affected by anything like heartbleed. So, its upto you to take actions which are need to be taken and act fast.
Is Facebook Is Redesigning Oculus Rift?
A Facebook spokeperson already confirmed that the company had no plan to redesign the Oculus VR gaming console hardware. I think Facebook has learned some brilliant lessons from Lenovo as after aquiring ThinkPad from IBM. Before this the most popular machine ThinkPad was originally designed, developed, and sold by IBM until Lenovo acquired the brand in 2005.
As Facebook clearly stated also that they are not going to mess the Oculus Rift neither with their logo nor Facebook's User Interface. Can you imagine how that could be if they put all those farm games and most beloved sweet Candy Crush in it? Thankfully they are not messing.
According to sources it is pretty much cleared and yes we can at least expect some changes in Oculus Rift as Facebook acquired it. No not the logo and UI part, but improving some areas and things which surely will force us to remember that it is a part of Facebook. Remember the small change Facebook did to WhatsApp? Yes, the last seen one. Hopefully, you can now Hide WhatsApp Last Seen In Android with this tutorial.
A develover named Markus Persson had almost canceled the deal:
Nearly everyone is unhappy with the deal between Facebook and Oculus Rift gaming device. Lets see how this partnership will be going. Or any other company will buy it from Facebook by paying more than $2 billion.

We were in talks about maybe bringing a version of Minecraft to Oculus. I just cancelled that deal. Facebook creeps me out.

Is Facebook Taking Seriously On Spam Posts and Like-Bating?
Yes, this seriously is not a hoax or something misconception. On April 10 Facebook declared that they will be presenting up with new algorithms that will stop posts and could even take actions like deleting page and profile if users are going to try things like Like-Bating and Spamming the community.
According to Facebook "The goal of News Feed is to deliver the right content to the right people at the right time so they don’t miss the stories that are important and relevant to them."
So what is like-bating?
Like bating is like asking for users or visitors for likes, comments and shares.
See that's obviously a spammy content. |
An example for like-bating can be seen above. So now I think you have the clear idea of what Facebook is talking about.
Facebook said "Like-baiting” is when a post explicitly asks News Feed readers to like, comment or share the post in order to get additional distribution beyond what the post would normally receive".
Not only this, they are also going to deal with spammy links. Which led clickers download something malicious or sends them to a webpage which is unsafe.
