How To Boot To Desktop Instead Of Start Screen On Windows 8.1?

By default Windows 8.1 directly boots to Start Screen. Because of this, the user needs to click Desktop tile everytime to switch to Desktop. However with the help of this tutorial you can directly boot to desktop as windows starts.

Let's Start:

  1. Right-click on Taskbar and select Properties option.
  2. Taskbar and Navigation properties open.
  3. Go to "Navigation" Tab and on "Start screen" section select "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start". Hit OK.

Congratulations! you'r done. Now whenever you will login to Windows 8.1 it will load the desktop instead of Start Screen.
